Filter WebPart Configuration Options

Use data from these Web Parts. Here you need to choose which result list this filter WebPart is associated to. Vice versa, also the filter WebPart must be configured in the result list. Otherwise filtering won’t work.

Customize Filters

In this dialog you can configure which filters should be shown.

Display Name

is the title shown above the filter. There are standard filter names which are automatically translated into several languages. Possible values for automatic translation are Type, Author, Modification Date, Department, Location, Content Source. If you need to have further translations, please use the Title translation and add an according json.

Filter Field

determines which metadata field should be used. This is the field name for a refinable SharePoint managed property or a refinable schema field the Graph connection

Template

determines how the filter is rendered. Common choices are . Select (as a standard filter), . File Type Select which collapses file suffixes and displays one human-readable value and an icon. You can alter the behavior through the "Mapped values" dialog where you can change the json . Date interval displays dates as "older than a year", "older than a month", etc. . Hierachical filters can be used to display a taxonomy from the SharePoint term store. Here you need to enter the term set id in order to allow the filter WebPart to look up the Ids at the right term set.

Other Settings

  1. We recommend to choose expand by default, otherwise users need to click on the header to see the filters.

  2. Show count enables counts behind the available filter values.

  3. Multi values. This adds checkboxes and an apply button. The behavior will then be determined by the chosen Operator. This can either be a Boolean "OR" or "AND"

  4. Sort values by: determines the order of the filter values. This can be by name or by count and each either ascending or descending. A good default is by count descending or by name ascending.

On page two of the configuration, you always need to choose Rt-Filter as the layout.

Conditional Filters

This feature allows you to show one filter only if a certain value of another filter is selected. In the "Conditional Parameter" field, enter the filter parameter including the value that you want to use as your condition. For example:
