The HCL Connections Connector extracts

  • user information and group memberships (communities and wikis)

  • objects from activities, blogs, communities, dogear, files, forums, profiles and wikis along with their metadata

  • attached documents, such as pdf files

  • documents from HCL Content Manager, e.g. community libraries

Some content is not exposed via the search SPI, such as file comments or binary file data. In this case, the connector uses calls against the Connections API and the Connections feeds. This way, the connector is able to synchronize all available data between HCL Connections and the search engine.

Change processing: some content changes are not exposed by HCL Connections, for instance deletions of files within libraries or changed file comments.

In this case, the connector will detect the respective changes during the next full content traversal.
